Watan USA

About

Who We Are

For more than two decades, Watan USA has stood with communities around the world facing crisis and natural disasters, delivering vital humanitarian assistance where it matters most. From emergency food, clean water, shelter, and medical care to education, healthcare, and sustainable recovery, we work to meet urgent needs while helping communities build a stronger and more resilient future.

Our Story

Watan USA was founded through the vision and determination of leaders who grew up understanding the daily struggles of underprivileged families — a personal journey that gave them a deep awareness of poverty, displacement, and the need for dignity in humanitarian work.

Watan USA is a U.S.-based nonprofit humanitarian organization serving vulnerable communities in crisis-affected regions around the world. Our work focuses on emergency response, food security, clean water, healthcare, education, shelter, sustainable programs and long-term recovery.

In Gaza, Watan has its teams directly on the ground delivering assistance without intermediaries, while its broader programs extend to other crisis-affected regions.

Where does my donation go?

Donations fund emergency relief and long-term recovery programs — food, clean water, healthcare, shelter, education and orphan care — delivered by our own teams on the ground rather than through intermediaries. Our reports and financial information are published on the Transparency page.

How does the 100% donation policy work?

100% of your donation supports our humanitarian programs. Administrative and fundraising costs are covered separately, so the amount you give goes to the cause you chose.

Can I choose what my donation supports?

Yes. When you donate you can direct your gift to a specific appeal — food for Gaza, baby milk, clean water, Zakat al-Mal — or choose "Where it’s needed most" and let our teams allocate it to the most urgent need.

How can I donate Zakat through Watan USA?

Select the Zakat al-Mal designation when you donate. Zakat funds are kept separate and distributed only to eligible recipients in accordance with Islamic guidance.

Can I volunteer with Watan USA?

Yes. Use the contact form and select "Volunteer" as your reason for reaching out, and our team will get back to you about current opportunities.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes. Watan USA is a 501(c)(3) organization, so donations from US taxpayers are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. You will receive a receipt by email for your records.
